Position: Nurse Practitioner
Status: Full Time, Part Time, Per Diem
Under remote supervision is responsible for providing complete clinical care, under a physician’s direction and using written protocols for children and adolescents. Care may include both individual and/or group health teaching, including reproductive health.
- Certified or licensed in California as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner; and a graduate of an FNP or PNP program.
- B.A. or B.S. in Health Sciences.
- One year’s work experience and experience working with children and/or adolescents.
- Knowledge of general and specific medical diagnoses and treatments, especially for children and adolescents; problem oriented recording; pharmaceutical treatments; health education methods and techniques and referral resources within the community in order to provide comprehensive treatment.
- Knowledge of primary, acute and chronic healthcare management; basic laboratory work.
- Knowledge of reproductive health care -including contraceptive counseling, dispensing, pregnancy testing, and health education on sexual health topics.
- Ability to complete written records in a timely manner.
- Ability to communicate with children and adolescents; provide group and individual health teaching and counseling in order to provide high quality physical and emotional support to patients.
- Ability to respond well to emergencies in a stressful environment; handle potentially volatile situations in a calm, decisive manner and to recognize when consultation is needed
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish preferred.
- Satisfactory completion of employment screening.
- Completed post offer physical exam, to include, MMR, Varicela Zoster, Hep B, TB
- Completed Department of Justice Background Check (Live Scan)
- Employee’s proof of auto insurance and current CA drivers license.
- Usual clinic environment with frequent interruptions in work to answer telephones and deal with crises.

Position: Medical Assistant
Status: Per diem
The Medical Assistant, under the direction of the Clinic Manager, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, performs
various patient care activities, clerical duties, and other duties as relates to the smooth operation of a School Health
Clinic activities; must be able to use good judgment in carrying out job tasks and be sensitive to the School Health
Clinics needs in cooperation with the interdisciplinary team and other school departments; assures the clinic is well
organized so that the highest quality of medical care will be provided.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved Medical Assistant program as required by the State of California.
- CPR certified.
- One-year current clinical experience as an M.A. preferred.
- Knowledge of office routine and filing system.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Ability to interact in a courteous helpful manner with patients, clients and staff.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and positively in a teamwork environment.
- Knowledge of or be willing to learn community health and welfare resources.
- Knowledge of computers and their applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with patients, co-workers, visitors and callers since many situations involve the provision of sensitive services.
- Skills in prioritizing, organizing and planning job tasks.
- Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of impending emergencies and initiate appropriate response.
- Ability to function, under protocols, with remote supervision when necessary. Because of small staffs at each location, there is more marked degree of autonomy.
- Position requires occasional moderate to heavy activity level involving lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pushing and pulling.
- May be exposed to microbial contamination from ill patients.
