GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Grant Writer supports the cultivation of charitable support from philanthropic business, corporate, and foundation donors primarily through the research, writing, and submission of grant proposals and reports as assigned.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead the Grant Lifecycle: Oversee all aspects of the grant process, from identifying opportunities to submitting applications and managing awards
- Craft Proposals & Reports: Develop and submit letters of inquiry, proposals, budgets, and reports to secure and maintain funding
- Manage Grant Calendar: Create and maintain a comprehensive calendar to track grant activities and deadlines, ensuring timely submissions and compliance
- Collaborate Internally: Work closely with internal teams to manage grant reporting, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and accurate data collection
- Build & Foster Relationships: Develop strong connections with a variety of funders, including corporate, private, government agencies, and School Health Clinics Board of Directors
- Implement Stewardship Practices: Enhance relationships through communications and events to strengthen funder engagement
- Assist with the development of marketing and outreach materials
- Coordinate online and in-person fundraising events
- Create and manage content for website and social media channels
- Participate in outreach activities to advertise the services of School Health Clinics to neighboring communities
- Other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education is required.
- 2-3 years of successful grant writing experience.
- Knowledge of or experience in non-profit services and federal grant management for a Federally Qualified Health Center.
- Demonstrated success in grant proposal writing, including state and federal grants, preferably in the health care setting.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and planning skills. High degree of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple deadlines efficiently and simultaneously.
- Solid team player who is able to work well collaboratively on projects and when under pressure.
- Proficiency in common word processing, desktop publishing, and database software applications.
- Demonstrates the necessary attitudes, knowledge and skills to deliver culturally competent services and work effectively in cross-cultural situations.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under remote supervision is responsible for providing complete clinical care, under a physician's direction and using written protocols for qualified students who attend a designated school. Care may include both individual and/or group health teaching.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides comprehensive, direct medical care to children and adolescents including reproductive health using written protocols. Acts as the primary care provider for those patients who sign up for that clinic.
- Teaches individuals and groups about health related topics as time permits.
- Performs or oversees Medical Assistants' performance of accurate CLIH-waived laboratory tests such as urine dip sticks, pregnancy, wet mounts and hemoglobin's. Follows up on lab results.
- Dispenses pre-packaged, pre-labeled medications under protocols.
- Writes clear, problem-oriented medical charting on each patient seen.
- Serves as liaison with teachers, counselors, etc. at the school site.
- Provides direction to the assigned Medical Assistant.
- Assists in data collection for evaluation purposes on each patient seen by completing Encounter Forms.
- Completes necessary billing forms on each patient seen.
- Assures that the assigned clinic runs smoothly and in an organized manner.
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of assigned clinic.

- Certified or licensed in California as a Physician Assistant or as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner; and a graduate of a NCCPA , FNP or PNP program.
- B.A. or B.S. in Health Sciences.
- One year's work experience and experience working with children and/or adolescents.
- Knowledge of general and specific medical diagnoses and treatments, especially for children and adolescents; problem oriented recording; pharmaceutical treatments; health education methods and techniques and referral resources within the community in order to provide comprehensive treatment.
- Knowledge of primary, acute and chronic healthcare management; basic laboratory work.
- Ability to complete written records in a timely fashion.
- Ability to communicate with children and adolescents; provide group and individual health teaching and counseling in order to provide high quality physical and emotional support to patients.
- Ability to respond well to emergencies in a stressful environment; handle potentially volatile situations in a calm, decisive manner and to recognize when consultation is needed
- Ability to speak and understand Spanish.
- Usual clinic environment with frequent interruptions in work to answer telephones and deal with crises.
- May be exposed to communicable diseases.

GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant, under the direction of the Clinic Manager, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant, performs various patient care activities, clerical duties, and other duties as relates to the smooth operation of a School Health Clinic activities; must be able to use good judgment in carrying out job tasks and be sensitive to the School Health Clinics needs in cooperation with the interdisciplinary team and other school departments; assures the clinic is well organized so that the highest quality of medical care will be provided.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Registers patients for the Health Clinic by determining the presence of a current Parental Consent form and confirming that signature if necessary; and by completing all necessary registration forms.
- Assures receipt of all insurance information from the patient.
- Prepares patients to be seen by the Practitioner by locating the correct chart and performing and recording vital signs on each patient.
- Assists in performing selected tests such as urine testing for HCG, HGB, Protein, Sugar, Blood, etc.
- Provides simple medical treatment under the supervision of the Practitioner to selected patients that may involve such things as the application of non-sterile compresses, ice, bandages and charts this when appropriate.
- Files patient information and forms in patient charts in a timely manner so that files can be accessed easily.
- Maintains patient chart files organized in predetermined format.
- Assist patients in completing necessary documents.
- Assist with referral tracking, following up with patients for whom the clinic is PCP.
- Performs language translation as needed.
- Collects and checks for accuracy, evaluation and billing data. Enters registrations and visit information into computer accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
- Answers Health Clinic telephone, refers calls and takes messages in a sensitive manner.
- Cleans and cares for Health Clinic equipment such as
- Scales
- Sphygmomanometer
- Wheelchairs
- Crutches
- Heating Pad
- Completes clerical assignments such as the typing of memos and labels; monthly ordering of office medical supplies so that supplies are maintained at a pre-determined level; and Xeroxing forms and other materials necessary for operation.
- Attends required team meetings once or twice monthly.
- May be asked to assist in the orientation of new staff members on an as needed basis.
- Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of all patients seen.
- May work at other clinic locations as needed
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Medical Assistant Certificate from an approved Medical Assistant program as required by the State of California.
- CPR certified.
- One-year current clinical experience as an M.A. preferred.
- Knowledge of office routine and filing system.
- Bilingual English/Spanish required.
- Ability to interact in a courteous helpful manner with patients, clients and staff.
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population and positively in a teamwork environment.
- Knowledge of or be willing to learn community health and welfare resources.
- Knowledge of computers and their applications.
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Ability to use tact and diplomacy in dealing with patients, co-workers, visitors and callers since many situations involve the provision of sensitive services.
- Skills in prioritizing, organizing and planning job tasks.
- Ability to recognize signs and symptoms of impending emergencies and initiate appropriate response.
- Ability to function, under protocols, with remote supervision when necessary. Because of small staffs at each location, there is more marked degree of autonomy.

- Position requires occasional moderate to heavy activity level involving lifting (up to 50 pounds), bending, pushing and pulling.
